Owen Smith suggests that we need to get death cult ISIS "round the table"
Owen Smith’s gaffe-prone media performances are only getting worse and worse.
It is a beautiful irony when those trying to overthrow the democratically elected leader of the Labour Party justify their actions because they want “competence”, especially in the press. Over the last month, Owen Smith has proven that things would likely get worse under his leadership. Whether it be smashing Theresa May back on her heels or this latest faux pas – it is clear that he is anything but an effective media operator.
At the BBC’s Victoria LIVE hustings this morning, Owen Smith went as far as saying that we need to get Islamic State (ISIS) “round the table”.

"Ultimately all solutions to these crises do some about through dialogue. So eventually if we are to try and solve this, all of the actors do need to be involved. At the moment, ISIL are clearly not interested in negotiating. At some point, for us to resolve this, we will need to get people round the table."
One can only imagine the vilification Jeremy Corbyn would have received from the British press if he was the candidate who made that absurd statement. Smith’s foreign policy suggestion was quickly rebuked by Corbyn, who insisted under his leadership, there would be no negotiations with ISIS. A common sense position – you would think?
Not according to Owen Smith.
