You will have undoubtedly heard these asinine phrases spouted ad infinitum by politicians of all stripes over the last year or so - because, depressingly, it seems as if both the Conservatives and Labour have seemingly time-travelled back to 2010 to once again try and outcompete each other in how tightfisted, miserly, and pro-austerity they can be.
In 1968, the original Poor People’s Campaign in its protest camp Resurrection City in Washington, DC, asked the very same questions in opposing the Vietnam War. 55 years later, the struggle continues.
The war on Ukraine is by the American government. Let them pay for it. They overthrew the elected government. They placed the comedian as Uke leader. They told vlad that a “minor incursion” would be acceptable (just as they told Saddam that Kuwait was not America’s problem). They have prohibited any Western gov from initiating peace negotiations. They blew-up the pipeline. Let them pay for it.
